Diploma In Public Administration (DPA)


ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR DIPLOMA IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION

  • Five (5) SSSCE/WASSCE passes (Including English Language and Mathematics) or
  • Five (5) GCE O-Level passes (Including English Language and Mathematics) or
  • Five (5) GBCE (RSA II) passes (Including English Language and Mathematics) or
  • Mature Applicants must be twenty-five (25) years old and must show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth which is five (5) years old at the time of application. And must pass a written test in English Language, Mathematics and General Knowledge to be conducted by the Koforidua Technical University.

Bachelor Of Technology (BTech)

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR BACHELOR OF TECHNOLOGY PROGRAMMES

  1. Holders of Higher National Diploma in a specified field obtained from accredited/recognized institutions with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division
  2. Holders of Higher National Diploma in a particular field transferring from similar programmes run at accredited/recognized institutions with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division should have a one (1) year working experience.
  3. Holders of University Diploma certificates from accredited Universities and Professional Diploma certificates are eligible to apply
  4. Other qualifications that are equivalent to Higher National Diploma, Construction Technicians Certificate III & II), (CTC III (New)), CTC II (Old) , Mechanical Engineering Technician III (MET III), Electrical Engineering Technician III (EET III), Advance Diploma among others).

Higher National Diploma (HND)

GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR HND PROGRAMMES

  1. SSSCE/WASSCE APPLICANTS
  • SSSCE Candidates: Passes (A-D) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies; and must possess a minimum of D in any three (3) of the passes relevant to the area of specialization.
  • WASSCE Candidates: Passes (A-D7) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies; and must possess a minimum of C6 in any three (3) of the passes relevant to the area of specialization.
  • Alternatively, SSSCE/WASSCE Applicants with passes (A-D)/(A1-C6) in three core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies; and a minimum of D/C6 in any two (2) of the passes relevant to the area of specialization are eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must be twenty-five (25) years old at the time of application and must show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth which should be five (5) years old at the time of application.
    Must pass a written test in English Language, Mathematics and General Knowledge to be conducted by Koforidua Technical University.
  • Mature applicants’ class and entrance examinations have been scheduled as follows:
    1. Classes: July 4, 5, 11 &12, 2020
    2. Entrance Examinations: Saturday, July 19, 2020

The class and entrance examinations would be held at Koforidua Technical University main campus. Please come along with birth certificates. Deadline for mature applications is July 3, 2020.

Non-Hnd Programmes (DBS)

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • DBS–(Accounting/ Management/Marketing/Purchasing & Supply/ Entrepreneurship/ Secretarial Options)
    1. Four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE passes (including English and Mathematics) Or
    2. Four (4) GCE O-Level passes (including English Language and Mathematics) Or
    3. Four (4) GBCE (RSA II) passes (including English Language & Business Mathematics) Or
    4. NACVET/NVTI Typist/ 2 or 3 passes in Stenographer Certificate (for Secretarial option)
  • DBS–(Statistics and Information Technology Options)
    1. Four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE passes (including English, Mathematics plus elective Mathematics or Physics) Or
    2. Four (4) GCE O-Level passes (including English Language and Mathematics, additional Mathematics or Physics)
  • Certificate II in Fashion Design and Textiles:-2-Years
    1. Passes in SSSCE/WASSCE/GBCE/’O’ Level subjects.
    2. National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) Fashion Certificate Grade I or Grade II or equivalent.
    3. Junior High School Graduates with knowledge and skills in Dressmaking
  • Advanced Fashion Design and Textiles:-2-Year
    1. Holders of City and Guilds Certificate in Fashion & Designing (Dressmaking and Tailoring) Or
    2. Intermediate Dressmaking/Fashion Certificate plus at least one (1) year relevant practical experience Or
    3. Four (4) passes in SSSCE/WASSCE subjects including English Language, Mathematics and any other elective subjects plus basic knowledge and skills in Dressmaking Or
    4. Four (4) passes in GCE ‘O’ Level including English Language Mathematics plus knowledge in Dressmaking.
  • Construction Technician Certificate (CTC) Part I
    1. Four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE passes including English, Mathematics and Technical Drawing.
    2. Technical Construction option Subjects: Craft (B/C, C/J, P/D, and Plumbing) and Advanced (B/C, C/J, P/D, and Plumbing.)
    3. Passes in General Course in Construction (GCC)
  • Mechanical Engineering Technician (MET) Part I
    1. Four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE passes including English, Mathematics and Science
    2. Technical Option Subjects :Engineering Crafts, Intermediate General Engineering (GE), MECP
    3. Technical Option Subjects: MVM, Intermediate General Engineering (GE)
  • Electrical Engineering Technician (EET) Part I
    1. Four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE passes including English, Mathematics and Science and any two of the following – Applied Electricity/Electronics, Physics, Mathematics.
  • Catering Certificate II (formerly Cookery 812/1)- 2years
    1. Passes in relevant SSSCE/WASSCE/GBCE/ GCE O-Level subjects.
    2. NVTI Grade II or JHS Certificate with working experience.

Pre-HND/Access Programme

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  1. Applicants must have a minimum of Craft Course. Or
  2. Applicants must have MET I, MVT I and EET I or its equivalent. Or
  3. Applicants should have a minimum qualification of Intermediate or Craft Certificate or its equivalent from a recognized examinations body. With regards to Hospitality Management, applicants must have Cookery 812/2.
