Our Targets

  • To attain a University status by the next ten (10) years(i.e. Oxford University College)
  • To establish satellite campuses in Accra and Takoradi by the beginning of 2018/2020 academic year.

Oxford Institute of Business & Journalism formerly known as Oxford Institute of Acting & Journalism was established in 2006 with 11 students including six (6) females and five males.

It started with the introduction of a One-Year Diploma programme in Journalism and Film Acting respectively. Its first location was at the premises of Cambridge Educational Complex at North Suntreso in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

The institution’s establishment is the brain work of an ace Broadcast Journalist, Daniel Kofi Asante Ennin (Morning Show Host and Head of Talk) for Nhyira Fm-Multimedia Group Ltd branch in Kumasi.

It was established purposely to serve the Northern Sector of Ghana the opportunity for interested and would-be Journalists, actress and actresses, business oriented individuals to receive proper practical based training in their respective fields.

Oxford Institute of Business & Journalism is a non-profit educational institution accredited by the National Board for Professional and Technician Examination (NABPTEX) and affiliated to the Institute of Commercial Management (ICM) in UK. The business department of the institution is also currently affiliated to the Kumasi Technical University.

Oxford is aimed at solidifying and enhancing the career prospect of the graduate in the job market. Each graduate has the option to complete his/her education at any of the Universities for further education.

It is located at Kwadaso in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region of Ghana with the following departments;

The institution currently runs Two, One, Six months and other related short course for prospective students. 

The institution has finest lecturers from most of the leading universities and competent administrative team to ensure effective teaching and learning among students.

Oxford Institute has over 80 percent of its products gainfully employed in the various sectors of the economy. Several of them who specialised in the Journalism in the field of Journalism are performing creditably in their respective organisations.

Few to mention are Paa Kwasi Parker Wilson with Joy Fm, Accra, Beatrice Osei (Opatuo) Nhyira fm-Kumasi, Kwabena Agyapong-(Deputy News Editor) Rainbow Radio-Accra, Pomaa Kyekyeku-Kasapa Radio-Accra and many others various banking and telecommunication industry.

                   Meaning of OIBJ Logo

The Meaning of the Oxford Institute of Business & Journalism logo is derived from the constituent element. The logo has the following elements:-

The Globe Symbol: The globe represents the totality of the world which means that Oxford must be known and to serve the world in all positive purposes.

OIBJ is written halfway on the globe which represents the viability of the institution around the world. The end of the globe is turned down in sword form which indicates the solidness of the institution and its ability to stand the test of time.

The motto of the institution Integrity and Professionalism is written in a cross form in the center of the globe which represent Christ Jesus being the pillar and the center of institution.
