Applications are invited from prospective applicants for admission into Degree/HND programmes
of the Sunyani Technical University, Sunyani, for the 2023/2024 Academic year.

DEGREE PROGRAMMES (4-YEAR)
• Bachelor of Technology (BTech) Fashion Design Technology
Entry Requirements

  1. Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (SSSCE) and West Africa Senior
    Secondary School Certificate in Visual Art and Home Economics options.
    The Requirement for admission of WASSCE, SSSCE in Visual Art and Home Economics options
    candidate to the Fashion Design programme is three (3) credits passes in core subjects and three
    credits in relevant elective passes.
    i. SSSCE Candidates: Credit passes (A-D) in six subjects comprising three core subjects including
    English Language and Mathematics, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.
    ii. WASSCE Candidates: Credit or better (A1-C6) in six subjects comprising three core subjects
    including Core English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies plus three of the
    following subjects: Clothing and Textiles, Textiles, Management in Living, Leather Work, Picture
    Making, Graphic Design and General Knowledge in Art.
  2. General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level Candidates
    Passes in three (3) subjects including Art (at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better).
    Also, the applicant must have had credit passes (Grade 6) including Art, English Language,
    Mathematics and three (3) GCE Ordinary Level subjects with three credit or better in the following
    subject: Clothing and Textiles, Textiles, Management in Living, Leather Work, Picture Making,
    Graphic Design and General Knowledge in Art.
  3. Science and Technology Programmes
    i. SSSCE Candidates: Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects. English
    Language, Integrated Science and Mathematics, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.
    ii. WASSCE Candidates: Credit Passes (A1-C6) in six (6) subjects comprising three (3) core
    subjects; English Language, Integrated Science and Mathematics, plus three (3) elective subjects.
  4. Arts, Business and Humanities Programmes
    i. SSSCE Candidates: Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects, including
    English Language and Mathematics, plus two (2) elective subjects.
    ii. WASSCE Candidates: Credit Passes (A1-C6) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects,
    including English Language and Mathematics, plus three (3) elective subjects
    iii. GBCE Candidates: Credit Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising three (3) core subjects
    including English Language and Mathematics plus three (3) relevant elective subjects
  5. Admission of Higher National Diploma (HND) Candidates to the B-Tech Fashion Design
    Programme.
    Applicant must have graduated with a good HND certificate (i.e. at least 2nd Class Lower Division)
    in Fashion Design Technology or its equivalent. Applicants with a Pass will be assessed before
    admitting such applicants into the Programme.
    Other Diploma qualifications from elsewhere assessed to be equivalent to HND Fashion Design
    may be similarly considered.
  6. Advanced Fashion and Textiles Certificate Examination (AFTCE) Candidates.
    Also, the applicant must have had credit passes in five (5) subjects including English Language,
    Mathematics, Integrated Science or Social Studies in their Senior Secondary School Certificate
    Examination (SSSCE) or West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations
    (WASSCE) plus three of the following subjects: Clothing and Textiles, Textiles, Management in
    Living, Leather Work, Picture Making, Graphic Design and General Knowledge in Art. AFTCE
    candidates may be considered for admission to level 200 of the degree programme.
  7. Advanced Fashion and Designing Cotvet.
    Applicant must have had passes in six (6) subjects including English Language, Mathematics,
    Integrated Science or Social Studies in their final examination Certificate plus three of the
    following subjects: Clothing and Textiles, Textiles, Garment Construction, Pattern Drawing or
    Pattern Drafting, Dress Design, with practical/project.
  8. Mature Students Entry
    Mature students entry avenues to tertiary education provide opportunities for people who could not
    do so earlier in their lives to further their education at the tertiary level after some years in the
    workplace.
    i. The applicant must be at least 25 years old, and show proof of age with birth certificate or any
    legitimate documentary proof of date of birth which is at least 25 years old at the time of
    application;
    ii. For admission into the degree programme, applicant must pass Mature Students’ Entrance
    Examinations conducted by the Sunyani Technical University (English Language, Mathematics
    and Aptitude Test);
    iii. In lieu of such examinations, the applicant should show proof of credit passes in English
    Language and Mathematics in WASSCE or any other nationally recognised standard High School
    Level examinations (for qualifications from countries outside WAEC’s aegis).
    C. PROFESSIONAL AND OTHER ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS
    All professional certificates and any other qualifications beyond the ones specified above will be
    referred to the National Accreditation Board for the establishment of their equivalencies, to
    determine their eligibility for admission to the B-Tech Fashion Design programme.
    D. FOREIGN QUALIFICATION
    All foreign qualifications shall be referred to the National Accreditation Board (NAB) for
    determination of equivalences and eligibility for admission to the Fashion Design programme.
    • Bachelor of Technology (BTech) Electrical and Electronics Engineering
    The programme targets the following group of graduates:
    • SSSCE/WASSCE graduates
    • General Certificate of Education (GCE)
    • Technical School graduates with NABPTEX Certificate Examination (Certificate II)
    • HND holders
    • International or Foreign Applicants
    • Electrical Technicians ( Part EET II and EET Part III)
    • Technical Professionals who are presently working
    • Matured applicant in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering
    Applicants seeking admission into the B.Tech Degree in the proposed Electrical and Electronics
    Engineering Programme must possess one of the following categories of qualifications:
    a. Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE)
    Graduates with at least credit passes (A-D) in Core English, Core Mathematics, Integrated
    Science, Elective Mathematics, and any two of the following: Physics, Technical Drawing,
    Applied Electricity and Chemistry can apply.
    b. West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)
    Graduates with at least credit passes (A1-C6) in Core English, Core Mathematics, Integrated
    Science, Elective Mathematics, and any two of the following: Physics, Technical Drawing,
    Applied Electricity and Chemistry can apply.
    c. NABPTEX Certificate Examination (Certificate II)
    Passes in all elective subjects and passes in three core subjects (English, Mathematics and
    Science (Integrated/ Core Science).
    d. General Certificate of Education (GCE)
    Applicants who hold two (2) GCE ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry
    and a pass in General Paper, plus five (5) GCE ‘O’ level credits in English Language,
    Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Physics and General Science or Chemistry can
    apply.
    e. HND applicants
    Holders of HND Electrical and Electronics Engineering with at least Second-Class Lower
    Division in a relevant field will join the programme at Level 300 (third year).
    f. Technician Certificate
    Applicants must have acquired Part 3 or part 2 in Electrical and Electronics certificate of
    London City & Ghana Education Service (Technical Examination Unit) and the applicants
    must have acquired a one-year post EET III or two-year post EET II qualification working
    experience in a recognized civil engineering firm or related industry at the time of
    submitting the application forms. EET III and EET II applicants must undergo a one
    semester and two semesters bridging programme respectively, that covers all the prevailing
    first-year courses of the HND in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and pass all the
    bridging courses with an average score of at least 50%. After successful completion of the
    bridge programme, applicants will start at level 300 after the bridging programme.

g. Mature applicants

➢ Applicants who are 25 years or above (and show proof of age with a birth certificate
or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth, which is at least five (5) years
old at the time of application) with a minimum of two (2) years working experience
in a relevant power, telecommunication and allied engineering field can apply.
➢ Applicants who are 25 years or above (and show proof of age with a birth certificate
or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth, which is at least five (5) year
old at the time of application) with a minimum of 2 years work experience in a
relevant power, telecommunication and allied engineering field, plus a certificate in
any of the following programmes can apply:
i. Electrical Installation Work (Old Scheme)
ii. Electrical Works NVTI (Grade I and II)
iii. Electrical Works (TVET)
iv. Electrical Installation Works (City and Guilds of London)
Additionally, a pass in a written examination and a selection interview to be conducted by
the university is required to determine the acceptance of a mature applicant.

h. Foreign Applicants

➢ Required subjects for Sciences: English, Mathematics, Biology/Agriculture,
Physics and Chemistry, Further Mathematics and a pass in one arts subject. At least
passes with equivalencies of WASSCE or SSSCE shall be required.
➢ Other Qualifications: Other qualifications acceptable for consideration for
admission include International Baccalaureate (IB), IGCSE, GCSE, American
Grade13 examinations and other external qualifications, which have equivalences to
the WASSCE/SSSCE and the GCE (A Levels).
International students whose first language is not English are required to have one of the following
English Language qualifications before they can register on the programme:
• IELTS 6.0 (no less than 5.0 in any element)
• TOEFL paper-based 550 (no less than 4.0 in TWE)
• TOEFL IBT 79 (no less than 17 in any element)
However, applicants from English speaking countries may have these requirements waived.
The equivalencies of such foreign qualifications will always have to be determined and certified
by the National Accreditation Board (NAB).
• Bachelor of Technology (BTech) Civil Engineering
Entry Requirement
The programme targets the following group of graduates:
• SSSCE/WASSCE graduates
• General Certificate of Education (GCE)
• Technical School graduates with NABPTEX Certificate Examination (Certificate II)
• HND holders
• International or Foreign Applicants
• Construction Technicians (CTC Part II and Part III)
• Technical Professionals who are presently working
• Matured applicant in the field of Civil Engineering
Admission Requirements
Applicants seeking admission to the B. Tech Degree in Civil Engineering Programme must possess
one of the following categories of qualifications:
i. Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE)
i. At least credit passes (A – D) in English, Mathematics and Science (Integrated/ Core
Science)
ii. Also, at least credit passes (A – D) in any three of the following elective subjects:
Engineering Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Geography and Technical Drawing.
The cumulative aggregate must be 24 or better.
j. West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)
i. At least credit passes (A1 – C6) in English, Mathematics and Science (Integrated/ Core
Science) in addition to
ii. At least credit passes (A1 – C6) in any three of the following elective subjects: Engineering
Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Technical Drawing. The cumulative
aggregate must be 36 or better.
k. NABPTEX Certificate Examination (Certificate II)
Passes in all elective subjects and passes in three core subjects (English, Mathematics and Science
(Integrated/ Core Science)
l. General Certificate of Education (GCE)
i. Advanced Level: Passes in two subjects in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry.
ii. Five credit passes at ‘O’ Level including English and Mathematics, and Technical Drawing.
m. HND applicants
Applicants with HND in Civil Engineering (second class lower or better) will start at level 300.
n. Technician Certificate
Applicants must have acquired Part 3 or part 2 in Construction certificate of London City &
Guilds/Ghana Education Service and the applicants must have acquired a one-year post CTC III
or two-year post CTC II qualification working experience in a recognized civil engineering firm
or related industry at the time of submitting the application forms. CTC III and CTC II applicants
must undergo a one semester and two semesters bridging programme respectively, that covers all
the prevailing first-year courses of the HND in Civil Engineering and pass all the bridging courses
with an average score of at least 50%. After successful completion of the bridge programme,
applicants will start at level 300 after the bridging programme.
o. Mature applicants
Applicants may be considered on mature student’s status if they satisfy the following three criteria:
i. Passes in Construction Technician Part II
OR
Passes (GCE ‘O’ Level, SSSCE or WASSCE) in any two of the following:
Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Technical Drawing,
ii. Must be at least 25 years old and show proof of age with a birth certificate or any legitimate
documentary proof of date of birth, which is at least five (5) years old at the time of
application.
iii. Must have at least two years’ experience in a related field.
p. Foreign Applicants
i. Required subjects for Sciences: English, Mathematics, Biology/Agriculture, Physics and
Chemistry, Further Mathematics and a pass in one arts subject. Passes with equivalencies of

• All qualified applicants are expected to start the programme in the first year except for
applicants with HND, CTC 3 or CTC 2 who will start at level 300 or 200 respectively, as the
case may apply.
• Bachelor of Technology (BTech) Mechanical Engineering
The programme targets the following group of graduates:
• SSSCE/WASSCE graduates
• General Certificate of Education (GCE)
• Technical School graduates with NABPTEX Certificate Examination (Certificate II)
• HND holders
• Matured Applicants
• Construction Technicians (CTC Part II and Part III)
• International or Foreign Applicants
For admission into the programme, the following are required:
a. West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) Applicants
iii. At least credit passes (A1 – C6) in English, Mathematics and Integrated Science.
iv. At least credit passes (A1 – C6) in any three of the following elective subjects:
Engineering Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Metalwork, Auto Mechanics
and Technical Drawing. The cumulative aggregate must be 36 or better.
b. Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) Applicants
iii. At least credit passes (A – D) in English, Mathematics and Science (Integrated or Core
Science)
iv. At least passes (A – D) in any three of the following elective subjects: Engineering
Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Metalwork, Auto Mechanics and Technical
Drawing. The cumulative aggregate must be 24 or better.
c. NABPTEX Certificate Examination (Certificate II)
Passes in all elective subjects and passes in three core subjects (English, Mathematics and
Science (Integrated/ Core Science).
d. General Certificate Examination (GCE) Applicants
iii. Advanced Level: Passes in two subjects in Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry.
iv. Five credit passes at ‘O’ Level including English and Mathematics, Technical Drawing,
Auto Mechanics and Metalwork.
e. HND Applicants
i. Applicants with HND in Mechanical Engineering will start at level 300.
f. Technician Certificate
Applicants must have acquired Part 3 or part 2 in Technician certificate of London City &
Guilds/Ghana Education Service and the applicants must have acquired a one-year post MET III
or two-year post MET II qualification working experience in a recognized Mechanical Engineering
firm or related industry at the time of submitting the application forms. MET III and MET II
applicants must undergo a one semester and two semesters bridging programme respectively, that
covers all the prevailing first-year courses of the HND in Mechanical Engineering and pass all the
bridging courses with an average score of at least 50%. After successful completion of the bridge
programme, applicants will start at level 300 after the bridging programme.
g. Mature applicants
Applicants may be considered on mature student status if they satisfy the following three
criteria:
iv. Passes at Technician Part III
OR
Passes (GCE ‘O’ Level, SSCE or WASSCE) in any two of the following:
Physics, Mathematics, Technical Drawing, etc
v. Must be at least 25 years old and show proof of age with a birth certificate or any
legitimate documentary proof of date of birth, which is at least five (5) years old at the
time of application.
vi. Must have at least two (2) years working experience in a mechanical, electrical and
computer engineering fields or related field.
h. Foreign Applicants

iii. Required subjects for Sciences: English, Mathematics, Science, Physics and
Chemistry, Further Mathematics and a pass in one arts subject.
i. Other Qualifications:
Other qualifications acceptable for consideration for admission include International Baccalaureate
(IB), IGCSE, GCSE, American Grade13 examinations and other external qualifications which

Bachelor of Technology (BTech) Construction Technology
The programme targets the following group of graduates:
• SSSCE/WASSCE graduates
• General Certificate of Education (GCE)
• Technical School graduates with NABPTEX Certificate Examination (Certificate II)
• HND holders
• Matured Applicants
• Construction Technicians (CTC Part II and Part III)
• International or Foreign Applicants
For admission into the programme, the following are required:
a) Senior High School Certificate Holders:
v. At least credit passes (A – D) in English, Mathematics and Science (Integrated/ Core
Science)
vi. At least credit passes (A – D) in any three of the following elective subjects: Engineering
Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Geography and Technical Drawing, Physics,
Chemistry, Biology, Building construction, Woodwork, Metalwork, Applied Electricity,
Metalwork. The cumulative aggregate must be 24 or better.
b) West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)
v. At least credit passes (A1 – C6) in English, Mathematics and Science (Integrated/ Core
Science) in addition to
vi. At least credit passes (A1 – C6) in any three of the following elective subjects: Economics,
Geography, Elective Maths, Technical Drawing, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Building
construction, Woodwork, Metalwork, Applied Electricity, Metalwork. The cumulative
aggregate must be 36 or better.
vii. COTVET Certificate Holders: Three passes in core subjects including Maths, English,
Integrated Science and three passes in the Technical subjects (Construction practice,
Construction materials and processes, Practical and/or Technical drawing).
General Certificate of Education (GCE) ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level Certificate Holders:
Advanced level applicants must have passes in three (3) subjects (at least one of the passes should
be grade D or better). Also, the applicant must have had credit passes (at least Grade 6) in five (5)
GCE Ordinary Level subjects including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject or
General Science (for non-science students) and an Arts subject (for Science students).
Higher National Diploma (HND) Holders:
Candidates with HND in Building Technology certificate and similar construction related
certificates at the same level with HND will join at level 300.
Mature Students:
Applicants may be considered on mature student’s status if they satisfy the following three criteria:
vii. Passes in Construction Technician Part II
OR
Passes (GCE ‘O’ Level, SSSCE or WASSCE) in any two of the following:
Physics, Core Mathematics, Chemistry, and Technical Drawing, Elective Mathematics
viii. Must be at least 25 years old and show proof of age with a birth certificate or any legitimate
documentary proof of date of birth, which is at least five (5) years old at the time of
application.
ix. Must have at least two years’ experience in a related field.
x. They must pass an entrance examination and/or interview organised by the University.
Construction Technician Certificate (CTC) Holders:
Candidate with construction technician final certificate (CTC II old scheme and CTC III) will join
at level 300 upon passing an entrance examination and/or interview organized by the University.
CTC II certificate holders will join at level 200 upon passing an entrance examination and/or
interview by the University.
Other certificate holders like CTC I, Advanced in construction related certificates holders will be
admitted to level 100 upon passing an entrance examination and/or interview by the University.
Foreign qualifications:
iv. Required subjects for Sciences: English, Mathematics, Biology/Agriculture, Physics and
Chemistry, Further Mathematics and a pass in one arts subject. Passes with equivalencies of
WASSCE or SSSCE shall be required.
v. Other Qualifications: Other qualifications acceptable for consideration for admission
include International Baccalaureate (IB), IGCSE, GCSE, American Grade13 examinations
and other external qualifications, which have equivalences to the WASSCE/SSSCE and the

DEGREE PROGRAMMES (TOP-UP)

• Bachelor of Technology (B-Tech) Degree in Building Technology (Regular and
Weekend) (18 months top-up)
Entry Requirements
o Applicants must hold a good HND (Second Class Upper Division or Better) in
Building Technology or allied programmes with at least two years relevant post
HND qualification experience. Applicants with HND Second Class Lower Division
must pass a selection interview before they could be considered. The programme
duration is 18 months consisting of 3 semesters.
o To be eligible for admission to the Pre-B-Tech programme, candidates are required
to have one of the following qualification:
i. CTCIII Certificate Part III (CTCIII – New Scheme) or
ii. CTCIII Certificate Part III (CTCII – Old Scheme).

• Bachelor of Technology (B-Tech) Degree in Accounting Technology (Regular and
Weekend) (2 years top-up)
Entry Requirements

a. HND Accountancy Applicants
Holders of HND Accountancy Certificate

b. ACCA and ICA Applicants
Applicants with 7 passes or more papers of ICAG, ACCA, CIMA or equivalents
c. Advanced Diploma in Computerised Accounting
Holders of Professional Diploma in Computerised Accounting with credit passes (SSSCE
A- D), WASSCE (A1 C6) in the three core papers of English Language, Core
Mathematics and Social
Studies/Integrated Science or Equivalent from a recognized Tertiary Institution

d. First Degree
Applicants holding NAB Accredited degrees will be interviewed. The programme duration
is
18 months consisting of 3 semesters.

• Bachelor of Technology (B-Tech) Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain
Management (Regular and Weekend) (2 years top-up)
Entry Requirements
A candidate must have an HND with second class division or better and satisfy all conditions
that the Technical University will require.
a. A candidate must have an HND in Purchasing and Supply, Procurement
Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Freight Forwarding, Stores
Management, etc.; or its equivalent.
b. Applicants with Diploma in Procurement & Supply from the Chartered
Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS UK) qualification may apply.
c. HND Graduates from other fields or disciplines with a qualification not
lower than a minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division with at least five (5)
years working experience in procurement related fields.
d. First degree graduates from other fields or discipline may apply.
• Bachelor of Technology (B-Tech) Degree in Hospitality Management (Regular and
Weekend) (2 years top-up)
Entry Requirements
HND graduates of Hospitality management and students transferring from similar Programmes
run at other institutions with a minimum of 2nd Class Lower and must have had two years working
experience, qualify to apply. Admission would be based on an interview performance.
Additionally, HND Hospitality graduates who are 30 years and above but do not satisfy the above
class requirements may also apply.
• Bachelor of Technology (B-Tech) Degree in Civil Engineering (Regular and
Weekend) (2 years top-up)
Entry Requirements
The entry requirements for the programme is an HND (Civil Engineering) certificate or allied
programmes and a minimum of two years industrial experience. Preference would be given to first
and second class upper holders.
• First degree graduates from other fields or discipline may apply.

• Bachelor of Technology (B-Tech) Degree in Management and Entrepreneurial Studies
(Regular and Weekend) (2 years top-up)
Entry Requirements
i) Applicants must have qualification in HND Secretaryship and Management Studies, Purchasing
and Supply, Accountancy or Marketing as well as students transferring from similar programmes
run at other institutions with accreditation/recognition and with a minimum qualification of Second
(2nd) Class Lower Division plus at least two (2) years relevant post qualification experience in the
relevant field.
OR
HND Secretaryship and Management Studies, Purchasing and Supply, Accountancy, and
Marketing graduates possessing lower than the minimum Second (2nd) Class Division requirement
as indicated above, but have worked in relevant fields for a minimum of two (2) years may apply.
Applicants in this category will be admitted based on interview performance.
OR
Other HND graduates possessing lower than the minimum Second (2nd) Class Division
requirement as indicated above, but have worked in relevant fields for a minimum of two (2) years
may apply. Applicants in this category will be admitted based on interview performance.
• Bachelor of Technology (B-Tech) Degree in Marketing Management (Regular and Weekend)
(2 years top-up)
Entry Requirements

programmes ran at other accredited/recognized institution with a minimum of second class lower
division plus at least one (1) year working experience/ first degree from any recognized institution

Entry Requirements
(i) The B-Tech degree programme is a top-up programme designed for holders of the Higher
National Diploma (HND) Certificate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or related
field. To be eligible for the B-Tech in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering programme,
candidates must hold a good HND certificate (Second Class Upper Division or better)
with two years relevant post-qualification experience. Candidates with second class lower
division must pass a selection interview to be conducted by the Technical University in
additional to two years post qualification experience in a relevant field.
(ii) Electrical Technicians Course Part III or Part II old scheme holders with four (4) or three
(3) credit passes including Electrical Principle, Electrical Regulations, Electrical
Practical and Electrical Drawing plus four (4) G. C. E ‘O’ Level passes (English,
Mathematics) and any other two subject
OR
(iii) Final Electrical Technicians Course as stated above plus two (2) or more credit
passes of SSCE/WASSCE (SHS) (English and Mathematics).
Applicants admitted based on entry requirements (ii and ii) are supposed to go through
some bridging course or Pre – BTech programme organized by the department and pass
the stipulated courses before enrolled fully on the BTech programme.

ADMISSION ELIGIBILTY FOR HND PROGRAMMES
Admission is opened to:
i. SSSCE holders with credit passes (A-D) in English Language, Mathematics and
Integrated Science/Social Studies plus credit passes (A-D) in Three Elective
subjects relevant to the programme of study
ii. WASSCE holders with credit passes (A1-D7) in English Language, Mathematics
and Integrated Science/Social Studies plus credit passes (A1-C6) in Three Elective
subjects relevant to the programme of study
iii. CERTIFICATE II HOLDERS: Certificate II Applicants with Passes in six (6)
subjects comprising three (3) core subjects (English, Mathematics and Integrated
Science/Social Studies) plus three (3) passes in relevant elective subjects are
eligible for HND Programmes
iv. ADVANCED LEVEL holders with credit in at least Five (5) subjects at the GCE
‘O’ Level (or its equivalent) including English and Mathematics, plus at least two
passes in the subjects relevant to the programme of study.
v. TECHNICAL SCHOOLS APPLICANTS: Technical School applicants with
Passes in English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science plus three (3)
relevant elective subjects.
vi. POST SECONDARY TEACHER TRAIN ING CERTIFICATE
APPLICANTS: Passes at the final Post–Secondary Teacher Training
Examination plus five passes at the GCE O’Level/SSSCE/WASSCE including
English and Mathematics.
vii. DIPOMA IN BUSINESS STUDIES (DBS) APPLICANTS: Applicants who
hold DBS with Distinction or Credit from GES accredited institutions are eligible
for admission to level 200 to pursue Business related programmes at the HND
level. DBS applicants who hold a Pass would enroll at level 100. In all cases
applicants would be required to have four (4) credit passes in WASSCE/SSSCE/
RSA II including English and Mathematics.
viii. MATURE APPLICANTS
a. Must be at least 25 years old.
b. Must have at least two (2) years relevant industrial experience.
c. Must pass a written examination and an interview.
d. Must show proof of date of birth with any national document which is at
least 5 years old at the time of application.

The National Board for Professional and Technicians Examinations (NABPTEX) has designed an
access programme for Technical/Vocational Institute graduates into HND programmes.
NABPTEX will conduct a final external examination after which successful applicants shall
