Takoradi Zone Aamila Donates to Sekondi School for the Deaf
Takoradi Zone Aamila, on Saturday, 30th March, 2019 visited the Sekondi School for the Deaf and donated a bag of rice, a bag of flour, 10 sachets of pure water, 2 gallons of cooking oil, 5 packets of toilet rolls and assorted biscuits.
The Qaid of the Takoradi Zone, Mr. Benyameem Entsie Keelson who doubled as the leader of the delegation on presenting the items on behalf of the Majlis, stated that, the purpose of visit was to show the students care and love as has been admonished by Prophet Mohammed saw and encouraged the students to take their studies serious. Mr. Keelson advised the students not to despair for Allah is with them and there are people out there praying for them too. He assured them of regular visit from the Majlis.
Receiving the items on behalf of the school, the Headmistress Mrs Favor Aflafi, expressed her profound gratitude to the team and appealed for more support with respect to shoes and school uniforms for the students and added that these are the pressing needs of the students.
Among the team were Mr. Mamutas Kwesi Arkoh, Naib Muhtamim Ishaat; Nazim Khidmat-e-Khalq (Welfare), Mr. Mustapha Abban; Nazim Ishaat, Mr. Sadiq Ahmed; Mr. Abdul Azeez Baidoo, Apremdo Jamaat President and Mr. Haneef Ekow Forson, a jamaat member.
The Sekondi School for the Deaf has a total student population of 400 comprising of 185 boys and 215 girls. The school has Nursery, Primary and Junior High School pupils and takes part in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
