Teachers’ License: NTC opens Registration for Private and Public In-Service Teachers – Register HERE

The National Teaching Council (NTC) has opened registration for In-service teachers employed in the public or private sector. The purpose of this registration is to introduce every teacher currently in active service to the NTC Teacher Portal Ghana(TPG)which will serve as the online hub for all continuous professional development activities and licensing.

The registration will also provide NTC with an updated database of all teachers in the country.

The NTC in a letter dated April 2, 2020, and signed by its Acting Executive Secretary, Christian Addai -Poku, to the Chief Director of the Ministry of Education, indicated that teachers should be encouraged to participate in the process even as they are on break due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Every teacher across the country is advised to use this lockdown period to familiarize him or herself with the NTCTPG web portal.

Please follow the instructions below to get started: Requirements to register online for public teachers (teachers employed by GES):1. An active email address (create one if you do not have).

2. SSNIT number

3. Staff ID

4. Scanned passport picture for upload (optional).

5. Scanned evidence of professional training –Teacher Cert A, Diploma, PGDE, B.Ed, M.Ed, MPhil, PhD (as PDF, PNG or JPEG).

6. Scanned first appointment letter (as PDF, PNG or JPEG).

Requirements to register for private teachers:

1. An active email address (create one if you do not have).

2. SSNIT number.

3. Scanned passport picture for upload (optional).

4. Scanned evidence of professional training –Teacher Cert A, Diploma, PGDE, B.Ed, M.Ed, MPhil, PhD (as PDF, PNG or JPEG).

5. Scanned first appointment letter (as PDF, PNG or JPEG).

Steps for online registration:

1. Go to https://tpg.ntc.gov.gh/ via a web browser on a PC.

2. Click “Register Now” to create an account or log in to an existing account.

3. Select “Teacher” as the account type.

4. Fill in details and submit.
